About Alan Lowdell
Alan started his career in shipping, transport & logistics, which included his own business for a while prior to moving to the South coast with a major Japanese shipping line before transferring to recruitment in 2005.
He joined Hill McGlynn as Finance Manager, which was subsequently acquired by Randstad and he was appointed Company Secretary before support functions were transferred to a shared service centre in Luton.
Alan specialises in transactional finance including credit, risk, cash flow, payroll and compliance. Following the departure from Randstad, Alan supported a few boutique agencies in London & the south, when he joined Matchtech (Gattaca) in 2016 as Head of Internal Finance responsible for the Group's global transactional finance operations.
Alan retired in May 2024 having spent 50 years in business of which 20 years were in the recruitment industry, but he is available to support agencies or allied business as a NED or consultant.
